Use case
Self-host the tools your company runs on.
Analytics, automation, Git, wikis and search: run the open-source versions on your own servers and keep your data in-house. Fwoop handles deploys, updates and backups, so self-hosting doesn't become a second job.
The hard parts
Self-hosting without the babysitting.
Running the app is easy. Keeping it updated, backed up and watched is the part that usually slips. That's the part Fwoop does.
Updates with a way back
Templates track upstream releases. Updates run after a fresh backup and roll back if the health check fails.
Backups from day one
Every template ships with a nightly, encrypted backup of its data to your bucket.
Health and uptime
Health checks and uptime monitoring are set up when you deploy, with alerts to your channel.
Credentials in one place
Admin passwords and API keys go into secrets instead of a shared note.

Questions about self-hosting
Who keeps the apps up to date?
You decide per app: update automatically on a schedule, or get notified and update with one click. Either way a backup runs first.
Do I need licenses for these tools?
They're open source, but licenses differ. Each template links to the project's license, so check it fits how your company uses the tool.
Where does the data live?
On your servers, and in your bucket for backups. Fwoop deploys and watches the apps; it doesn't host them or store their data.
Can I deploy an app that isn't a template?
Yes. Anything with a Docker image and a compose file deploys the same way. Templates just save you the setup.
